Our Story

As a parent, it is our job to love, nurture, and encourage our children.  We instill in them how important it is that they love themselves just the way that GOD created them. We can constantly tell them how beautiful and wonderful they are because they have been created in HIS image, but until they believe it within their hearts, the message never resonates.

Growing up, my daughter, Le’Nya, thought that her dark skin was ugly; she felt like she couldn't rock certain looks or makeup because of her dark complexion. Her insecurities about her image caused her to be very shy and quiet—even to the extent that she covered her mouth each time she laughed in order to cover her gap.

It wasn’t until a few years ago that she finally came into her own and realized that being “different” didn’t mean ugly.  She learned to love herself and everything about her that made her different—her beautiful dark skin; her kinky hair; her illuminating gapped smile; her perfectly shaped almond eyes; and her thick thighs.

Today, my daughter is confident, outgoing, and a trendsetter. She loves working with kids and volunteers in a daycare, as well as babysits in her spare time. In addition to her love for kids, she has also discovered an additional talent—doing hair. Le’Nya is an excellent student and is very active in extracurricular school activities. She runs track, is a member of the step team, sings in the chorus, plays football, and is a member of the weightlifting team. After graduating in Spring of 2016, Le’Nya plans to attend college, majoring in Sociology and Business with an emphasis in Fashion.

Words can’t express how proud I am of my daughter and the strong woman that she is blossoming into. The acceptance of being HERSELF, loving HERSELF, the drive to be successful, and her love of style and fashion has inspired her to create ArieBLEU Boutique.  ArieBLEU Boutique specializes in expressive urban graphic tees for women, men, and youth.
